SOUTH Cerney Angling Club will be holding it’s Free Angling Taster Days for those who would like to have a go at fishing, on Saturday August 8, and Saturday, August 22.

Hosted in partnership with and The Cotswold Water Park Trust, the events are held as part of National Fishing Month, a national campaign to get more people fishing, supported by the Angling Trades Association, and it's supporting partners.

Taster sessions are free to attend, and offer the opportunity to try fishing with one-to-one guidance from a qualified angling coach.

The idea is to encourage every family member to have a go at fishing whatever the age, gender, or disability, or whichever cultural or social background they may be from.

After the fishing session there is an opportunity to do some pond dipping, to learn about the bugs and fish that live in our waters.

Both days take place at SCAC’s Gillman’s Lake, on their Wickwater complex, Wickwater Lane, South Cerney.

The sessions open at 10.00am and the last session commences at 4.00pm.

Fishing sessions last for approximately 30 minutes, with all fishing tackle, bait, and licences provided.

Pre booking is essential as spaces are limited.
