MP NEIL Carmichael has joined forces with Gloucestershire suppliers to launch a national research study.

Led by researchers from the University of Warwick, it exams the importance of supply chains.

The Frocester George Inn is being used as a core part of the study - because it uses a range of different suppliers and serves as an example of how a chain reaction occurs when a new business flourishes.

Janet Godsell, from University of Warwick said: "A business such as the Frocester George will help support many other businesses in its supply chain.

"These relationships are critical in supporting economic growth and creating jobs.

"Through our research we want to raise the profile of supply chain issues at board level and excite young people to consider a career in a supply chain role.

"I’m delighted that Neil Carmichael understands the importance of this issue, not just in his constituency but throughout the country.

"His support means a great deal to the success of the study."

Taking part involves answering questions about supply chains and includes an invitation to share your mychainreaction story.

The project ends in November 2015.
