POLICE are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died following a road traffic collision in Cheltenham on Sunday.
At around 2.45pm a black Honda Motorcycle, ridden by a 26 year old man from Bishops Cleeve, was travelling on the A40 Gloucester Road in the direction of Benhall Roundabout, when a collision occurred with a black Ford Focus driven by a 50 year old local man travelling in the opposite direction towards the town centre.
Members of the public, including an off duty paramedic and off duty police officer, administered emergency first aid at the scene.
Paramedics and police emergency services took over but the motorcyclist’s life could not be saved and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and are requesting that the driver of a black vehicle, which was initially waiting to turn right into Benhall Gardens and then drove on towards Benhall roundabout moments prior to the collision, to contact them.
