ARCHWAY teachers conquered Britain’s highest mountains in the three-peak challenge over the last weekend of the school holidays.
The 10 staff members enjoyed the good weather and sunshine of Ben Nevis in Scotland and the Lake District’s Scafell Pike but had to walk against horizontal rain hiking up Snowdonia in Wales.
Deputy head teacher of Archway, Kay Young, who took part in the challenge said: “The best bit was completing it and the feeling that we all finished and came through at the end.”
Sponsorship money is still coming in but the secondary school is hoping to raise at least £1,000 for a school in Nepal that they have links with.
Teachers from Adarsha Saral Secondary School in Kathmandu have previously visited Archway as part of an exchange which also saw the Stroud school’s Religious Studies teacher visit the Nepali school.
