A COUPLE from Cirencester vowed to tie the knot during a head shave which was organised to raise cash for charities close to their heart.

Through the head shave at Cirencester pub the Wheatsheaf Inn last month, Rachel Brown and Paul Kerr raised £506 for charities that have helped them and their relatives.

Charities, CLIC Sargent, which helped Rachel Brown’s cousin’s daughter Myah Rose-Bell beat a brain tumour and Cancer Research UK will receive some of the cash.

And the Lullaby Trust which gave her partner Paul Kerr support after his eight-month-old son Angus died from cot death will also be the beneficiaries of the cash from the evening.

During the event, which included a raffle and mini auction, love was in the air as Rachel was proposed to by Paul.

Rachel, who is a support worker at Cirencester homeless scheme, The Croft, said: “The head shave evening was a great success I couldn't of wished for a better night.I even got proposed to by my wonderful partner Paul. ”

She added that couple would like to thank all the businesses that donated raffle prizes for the mini auction, including Cirencester businesses, Second Chance, Bodyshop, Subway and the Marlborough Arms.

She said: “Thank you so very much for your love and support everyone, we love you to the moon and back and some.”
