MANY thanks to all the Children who came along on Saturday and took part in our first Children’s Day.

The team from Stroud Valleys Project gave out more than 70 ‘farmers’ market passports’ to children taking the taste trail and the feedback for the event was very enthusiastic.

We will be holding these days a few times through the year so look out for future announcements.

I’m delighted to announce another new stall at the market this week, and something really quite special - Sibling Distillery of Cheltenham.

Sibling Distillery is a gin distillery which has been based in Cheltenham since the summer of 2014.

The distillers are four siblings, all under the age of 23, who produce a contemporary, smooth gin in a state of the art distillery.

The distillery is glass and stainless steel, known as a ‘crystal still’ and is the first one of its kind to be used in Europe.

Having taught themselves to distil straight from school, they skipped university and ‘gap years’ to become the youngest distillers in the world!

With an aim of introducing new gin drinkers to the spirit, and offering seasoned gin drinkers something new, they created an alternative London Dry Gin that’s made waves since launching last year.

Sibling Triple Distilled Gin is produced from start to finish in Cheltenham, from a base spirit also produced in-house at Sibling Distillery.

Triple distilled and twice filtered for total purity, it is diluted with spring water from the hills above Cheltenham, filtered and purified through a layer of naturally occurring Fuller’s earth (the only totally natural filtration system), which gives the gin unrivalled clarity.

Sibling Distillery will be at Stroud every third Saturday of the month.

Down at the Flea market in Threadneedle Street, Girish Patel of Girish’ Snacks, a lifelong vegetarian, has decided to take his diet a step further by becoming a vegan.

Eating out as a vegan can be extremely challenging and so his weekly Indian Food Stall in Threadneedle Street will be completely vegan from the beginning of September 2015.

Here is his menu - samosa, onion bhaji wrap, bombay mix and chai made with almond milk.
