NAILSWORTH shoppers could not believe their eyes on Saturday when they saw David and Victoria Beckham in the town.

Excited children went to have their photo taken with world superstar David who waited in a grey Land Rover while Victoria went to buy ice lollies from K’n’G newsagents.

Kate Cornell, who runs Be Beautiful Mobile Beauty Therapy, was shopping at around 5.30pm when she recognised Victoria and David pull over in the Land Rover.

“I thought to myself, wow that girl looks really like Posh and then I noticed David driving,” she said.

“I got my daughter, Erin Cornell, and her friends Maisie Godfrey and Uma Seex from the car and told them who I had seen.

“The girls were really excited to see them.”

While Victoria went into the shop with children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, former England captain David posed for a picture with the three excited 11-year-olds.

“I asked him what brought him to Nailsworth and he said visiting friends,” added Kate, who is from Nailsworth and works as a beauty therapist and makeup artist.

"We then went into the newsagents to seek Posh who was enquiring about icelollies for the children.

"They were having trouble finding the ones they wanted.

"I asked for a picture and she was happy to oblige after pulling her sunglasses into position and posing with the girls."
