DUE to a high level of interest in the Eco Park public consultation, Ecotricity in conjunction with Forest Green Rovers (FGR), is holding a further drop-in session in Stonehouse.

Residents are invited to the event, will be held at Stonehouse Town Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday September 30.

As part of the public consultation, the drop-in sessions are designed to allow people to view the initial concept design, ask any questions and for representatives from Ecotricity and FGR to gather feedback that can help inform and improve the proposal.

The Eco Park proposal is a 100 acre sports and green technology centre would be located beside Junction 13 of the M5.

Almost half of Eco Park will be dedicated to creating state-of-the-arts sporting facilities, much of which will be open to the public, including: a 5,000 capacity stadium for FGR.

The other half of Eco Park will comprise a green technology business park with sustainably built commercial offices and light industrial units potentially capable of creating up to 4,000 jobs.

A third portion of land will become a nature reserve, while the overall concept also includes a desire to work with the Cotswold Canals Trust in their efforts to open up part of the 'missing mile' of the Stroudwater canal and the potential development of a public transport hub.
