CIRENCESTER’S X Factor singing sensation Hannah Marie Kilminster is continuing to shine in the competition after reaching the next stage.

In the Boot Camp part of the show, Hannah Marie, 30, was asked to perform a song in front of judges at the Grove Hotel near Watford.

She performed Chains by Tina Arena and did enough to convince them to allow her to progress.

Talented Hannah Marie, said that although the performance went well, it wasn’t her best.

She said: “It was a bit of a numbing feeling. Everything was so overwhelming. I wish I could have relived it a little bit. It just went so fast. It was not really a song that I would have chosen but it was an amazing experience.”

Hannah Marie, who used to work at the Bathurst Arms in North Cerney, feared the worst and thought she might be exiting the competition but when she was summonsed in front of the judges she was told she was going through to next stage - the Six Chair Challenge.

She said: “I thought I was going home, I thought I hadn’t done enough to get through. When you go in to get your results your are not really sure if you are in a good group or a bad group.

“Cheryl said ‘you have not done as well at Boot Camp as you did on your first audition but still we have seen something in you, so we want to send you through’.”

For the second week running Hannah Marie’s performance was not shown on ITV. Although disappointed, the former Cirencester Kingshill School pupil said she understands that not everyone gets the same amount of time on screen.

“It is just how it goes really. I signed up for a tv programme; your fate is in the hands of the producers.”

The X Factor is on ITV on Sunday night at 7pm.
