CIRENCESTER AC and TRIATHLON CLUB

Cirencester Park 10km, roads.

DAVE Bell (34.46) returned from his “CAC paternity leave” to win, running a fine race, although he was short on race fitness.

This year’s tougher course, which includes Big Bertha, a nasty hill that has be scaled twice, also played its part as Dave ran a 33.10 in last year’s event.

Bill Leggate (35.11) came third, in close support, and Simon Campbell (36.09), also back from paternity leave, was seventh; they were the winning men’s team.

There were twenty-two CAC runners and triathletes Daniel Wood (40.55) was 36th and Sarah Gunn (42.15) 50th. Sarah knocked twenty-five seconds off her previous run and was first FV45.

Oliver Bayliss (45.43) and Sarah Voss (45.50) helped each other round to finish 85th and 88th and Anna Barrowclough (52.50) beat Dad Brian by six seconds. Liza Darroch (56.00) was 3rd FV65.

The runners were supported by nearly thirty helpers and marshals, with smiles all round as the Club had a successful morning in glorious weather.
