THE deadline for nominations for the Standard’s Pub of the Year competition is tomorrow.
In the competition, which was launched at the beginning of August, the paper teamed up with Cotswold MP, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, to offer a fantastic prize for the winning landlord.
As well as receiving a trophy, they will also have a chance to spend a day in Westminster - where they can serve their brewery’s beer at a bar inside the Houses of Parliament.
There has been an overwhelming response to the competition, with nominations pouring in for 16 pubs across the district.
But only five pub's could make the final, and those that made it were The Royal Oak, Tetbury, The Bakers Arms, Somerford Keynes; The Wild Duck, Ewen, The Thames Head Inn, Cirencester and the The Golden Cross, Cirencester.
So far there has been great support for each of the finalist, with scores on nominations coming in for each pub.
The Standard can reveal that it is now an extremely close call who is going to win the competition and there is still time to vote.
To nominate complete the coupon which has appeared in the Standard over the past few weeks and hand it in at our offices on 74 Dyer Street, Cirencester, GL7 2PW, by midnight tomorrow. You can also post it through our door if the office is closed.
