TONGUES are wagging that Chalford residents could soon have a Fifty Shades of Grey star living in their midst.

Rumours have surfaced that the new owner of Abnash House, a £1,750,000 mansion on the edge of Chalford Hill, could be heartthrob Jamie Dornan.

It has been suggested the Northern-Irish-born actor, famous for his controversial role as Christian Grey in the 2015 box-office hit, will soon be moving to the village with his family.

The ‘sold’ sign has recently gone up on the property, and though the family have not yet moved in, nearby neighbours say they have been told that it's true.

The mansion on Abnash lane has five bedrooms, two reception rooms, solid wood orangery, massive landscaped gardens, a swimming pool, tennis court and its own area of woodland.

The estate agent The Hamptons said they could not confirm the rumours.

Dornan was catapulted to global superstardom with his role in the 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey, which was based on the 2011 erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James.

The 33-year-old actor is married to the Amelia ‘Millie’ Warner and they have a baby daughter Dulcie, born in November 2013.

The couple recently put their Grade II listed cottage in Westonbirt up for sale for £500,000 and there has also been recent press speculation that they are expecting their second child.

In addition to his upcoming role as Grey in Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, Dornan has also been busy filming in Prague for his new movie Anthropoid.

His acting career has seen him take up the role of Axel von Fersen in Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette and serial killer Paul Spector in the BBC Two crime drama series The Fall.

He has also enjoyed successful modelling career, working for Abercrombie & Fitch, Hugo Boss, and Armani and Calvin Klein.

Abnash House's grounds and natural woodlands are big attractions at Chalford Hill's summer garden trail - and locals will be hoping more than ever that this will remain the case.
