A WOMAN was left stranded and distressed on the platform at Stroud train station last night after her Land Rover bike was stolen from train's bike carriage.

Helen James, who was on her way back to Stroud from London Paddington, thinks the bike was probably taken when the train stopped at Stonehouse at about 7pm.

She said: "Unfortunately the GWR member of staff on the train responded with 'nothing I can do about it' and left me in a distressed state, alone on the platform at Stroud.

"The bike is very special to me and I really want it back."

Local and transport police have been advised about the theft.
