Afternoon Tea at St James Church, Quedgeley
THERE were copious cups of tea, coffee, lashings of cream, cakes and sandwiches served when the Rector of Saint James’ Quedgeley opened the doors of the Rectory in School Lane for afternoon tea.
Tea was served on the lawn in traditional style, somewhat resembling a country scene from bygone years.
The event was held as a ‘Thank you’ to everyone who’d attended the local church throughout the year, but it did raise just over £170 through donations and a raffle, in aid of church funds.
Father John, Rector and Parish Priest said, “It was a lovely afternoon, the weather was kind and we were able to hold the event outside. As we overlook the church the view is stunning. I’m really pleased we raised some funds to help in its maintenance, although that wasn’t the main purpose of this event. I’d like to thank all who attended and for those who for whatever reason couldn’t, my thanks for all you do at Saint James’.”
