MARINE experts will be giving talks at the opening of a new aquatics store at Dobbies in Cirencester on Saturday (October 10).

The Maidenhead Aquatics store will include, 150 aquariums and over 5,000 exotic invertebrates and tropical freshwater, marine, coldwater and pond fish from around the world.

At the opening event on Saturday, which has also been set up to raise funds for Marie Curie, marine experts will be giving various talks throughout the day.

One of those experts will be Craig Timms from Tropical Marine Centre (TMC) who will be talking about marine fish and invertebrates including corals.

“We’re delighted with the improvements made in the aquatic shop by Phil and his team which I’m confident our fish loving customers, of all types and ages, a completely new fishkeepers experience.”

Mr  Timms will be discussing topics such as 'how set up and maintain a marine aquarium and the needs of its inhabitants'  and  a 'fish's  journey from reef to retail'.

During the event, those attending will have the chance to enter a competition to win an Aquatropic 100 aquarium set worth £249.99 and there will be face painting for children.

The aquatics shop at Dobbies, which is located off the A419 Cirencester Road. is Maidenhead Aquatics 150th store.
