A FIREWORKS extravaganza is set to light up Stroud skies this year.

The popular Rotary Five Valleys Fireworks is set to come to Marling School playing fields in Cainscross on Monday, October 26.

This year's fireworks display is designed and choreographed to music by current British Firework Champions of Champions, Star Fireworks.

It is in part choreographed to the new James Bond theme song Writing on the Wall by Sam Smith, with the film’s premier being aired on the same night.

It is set to be the largest firework display in the Five Valleys, organised by the Rotary clubs of Stroud, Stonehouse and Nailsworth.

Attractions include John Coneleys Fun Fair, food, drink and for the second year following by poplar demand a covered area for under 12s to enjoy a variety of art and creative activities free of charge.

All profits from the event will go towards local charities including Allsorts, Cotswold Canals Trust, Great Western Air Ambulance, Shrubberies School, The Door Youth Project and The Willow Trust.

The family event, which has run for more than 50 years, has raised nearly £250,000 in aid of charity.

Companies who would like to sponsor the event can contact John Jeynes on john.jeynes@btinternet.com.

Gates open at 6pm.
