FIREWORKS and bonfires will be lighting up the sky this weekend.

The SNJ has compiled a list of all events taking place around the Stroud district.

First on the list is Leonard Stanley Bonfire Night, which will be held at Leonard Stanley C of E Primary School tomorrow, Thursday November 5.

Gates open at 6pm. Tickets: adult £2.50, child £1.50 under 3's free, family ticket £7.

Next on the list is Thomas Keble School Fireworks Display.

Organised by the Thomas Keble PTA, the event will feature family Fireworks, refreshment and a Jessie Smiths BBQ.

This event will also be held on Thursday evening. Doors open 6 pm Fireworks 6.30. Adults £4 Children £2 Family of 4 £10.

Moving on to Friday night we have Birdlip School Firework Display.

Gates open 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm, fireworks at 7pm. Adults £5, children £2, family £12, under 4's free. Proceeds are going to Birdlip School.

On the same night is Family Firework Display at Thrupp School, which will include fireworks, a bonfire, a bar, a BBQ, toffee apples and hot soup.

Gates open at 6.00pm. TBC adults £5, children £3. Family tickets costing £12.00 are available in advance from the school. Gate prices will be slightly higher.

Next on the list is Bisley Bonfire and Firework Spectacular, which takes place on Saturday night.

The annual bonfire and fireworks spectacular is on the George V Playing Fields in Van Der Breen Street in Bisley, and is organised by the Bisley Bluecoat Primary School PTA.

Gates open at 5.30pm with the fireworks display scheduled to start at 7pm.

Delicious food, real ales, mulled wine and glow in the dark toys will all be available.

Tickets are available in advance from George Stores in Bisley, priced £4 per adult, £2 per child and £10 for a family.

Pre-schoolers can attend free of charge. Tickets on the gate are £4.50, £2.50 and £12.

Minchinhampton’s fireworks night also takes place on Saturday at the primary school.

Local families can enjoy an impressive display plus a bonfire. Gates open at 5pm, fireworks start from 6pm.

Tickets cost £5 (adults), £3 (children), £12 for a family ticket in advance.

Wotton Firework Display is on the WCSF Sports Field, New Road, Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday.

Gates open at 6.30pm. The initial firework display is at 7.15pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm with the main firework display at 8.15pm.

Also on Saturday from 5.30pm is Kemble Primary School Bonfire and Fireworks Night, with a fireworks display set to music that will last approx 20 minutes and a bonfire finale.

There will also be a barbecue, licensed bar, snacks and refreshments, glow merchandise for sale and a children’s disco in a large marquee.

This event will be held at Kemble School, School Road, Kemble, Cirencester. Advance tickets are on sale from either Kemble Primary School or Kemble Post Office.

Next is Wotton Firework Display, taking place on WCSF Sports Field, New Road, Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday November 7.

Gates open 6.30pm. Initial firework display 7.15pm Bonfire lighting 7.30pm and main firework display at 8.15pm.

One of the larger events is Gloucester Docks Big Bang Fireworks Festival on Saturday evening.

Renowned as one of the best firework displays in the south west, Gloucester Docks Fireworks Festival will be illuminating the night sky above the famous Gloucester Docks once again with an amazing firework spectacular, organised by the Gloucester Round Table.

Lots of family fun is guaranteed with fantastic firework illuminations and pyrotechnics ensuring a great evening of entertainment.

The festival, which starts at 5.30pm, will include a funfair, hot food, refreshments, live music, market stalls with bonfire night treats.

Advance tickets available from Tourist Information Centre or Gloucester Waterways Museum.

To rival the Gloucester display on Saturday evening is the firework display at Cheltenham Racecourse, which last year attracted crowds of more than 15,000 people.

In addition to a spectacular firework display there will be the following to keep the crowd entertained prior to what promises to be a colourful extravaganza.

The racecourse location offers a natural amphitheatre for the display itself as well as ensuring that spectators can safely watch the event from hard standing and in some areas under cover of the Grandstand.

All profits from the event will be donated to local deserving good causes and charities, including the Midland Air Ambulance.

The gates are open at 5pm and the display is scheduled to start at 7pm. Tickets on the gate £6 adult £4 child, £12 family ticket.

Lastly, on Sunday we have Miserden Firework Display. Gates Open at 5pm. Adults £4.50 Children £2 Under 4's free.
