VOLUNTEERS from Stroud are raising money to take donations to refugees in Greece.

The group, who returned from helping refugees in the Jungle camp in Calais last month, is travelling to Lesvos on Monday, November 23 to take clothes, sleeping bags and other goods to refugees living in appalling conditions.

Residents can play their part this Saturday by bringing donations for refugees in Greece to Rodborough Community Hall from 11am to 4pm.

A jumble sale will then be held in the hall from 2pm to 4pm to raise money towards the trip.

The group has also raised more than £5,600 in just two weeks to buy 250 pairs of winter boots which will be sent to refugees in Calais.

Any surplus cash will be used to help migrants in Greece.
