THERE was chaos on the roads across the county last night after a storm downed several trees and caused accidents.

Police reported trees blocking roads in a variety of locations including Buckholt Road near Lechlade, Ashton Road, Siddington, Horcott Road, Fairford and Horsepool Hill, Stroud.

On the same night police reported a single vehicle crash on the A435 between the Bathurst Arms North Cerney and Rendcomb.

Meanwhile, a man in his 40s was seriously injured when his in bike was in a collision on the A46 near Painswick.

The man was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol to be treated for his injuries.

The A46 was party closed by police after the collision but it was later fully reopened.
