AUSSIE ace Jason Doyle has expressed his delight at returning to the Swindon Robins line-up for 2016.

The 30-year-old was an Elite League winner with the Robins in 2012 but has spent the last two seasons with Leicester where he was captain and leading points scorer.

Since leaving the Abbey he has also gone on to become a Grand Prix star, achieving an impressive fifth place finish in his maiden World Championship campaign in 2015.

He will now make the switch back to Wiltshire to lead Alun Rossiter’s side from the number one position as they eye Elite League glory.

“It’s really good to be back,” Doyle said. “Being back at Swindon has worked out well and I’m looking forward to it.

“It took a while to finalise things but we got everything sorted eventually and I’m pleased we managed to get the deal done.

“I’ve had some great times at Swindon in the past and winning the Elite League in 2012 was an awesome moment.

“I’m looking forward to being back as number one and hopefully I can have another good season to help the club do well.

“I probably need to thank Leicester for putting me at number one and having that confidence in me when they signed me a couple of years ago.

“That’s made me a better rider, I feel like I’ve come on a lot the last couple of years and I’m just looking to keep that going with Swindon next season.”

Doyle joins another Aussie, Justin Sedgmen, in the Swindon line-up and they are expected to be joined by Nick Morris.

The other riders to have signed so far are reserves Charles Wright and Stefan Nielsen.

The club, who hope to be racing in their new state-of-the-art stadium in 2016, have unveiled special prices for supporters who purchase season tickets before the end of the year.

Discounted season tickets are priced at £210 for adults and £160 for senior citizens and students with a programme included at each home meeting, while season tickets for children aged 12-16 cost just £25.
