SHERSTON Parish Council have drawn up a response plan to deal with emergencies in the area.

The Sherston Community Emergency Plan deals with how residents and the council should respond to flooding, heavy snow, a loss of utilities and animal health.

They have also looked at how best to respond to a flu pandemic in the area and what they describe as ‘catastrophic disaster’.

The council have listed local shops that can provide supplies, water and medical support, among other things, when disaster strikes.

Places of safety such as the village hall and suitable local schools and churches have also listed in the document.

The council have also appointed farming, flood, and snow coordinators in the plan, whose details are also provided on the plan, available online.
