A DEGREE course has been launched at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) for those with aspirations to work in the real estate profession.

Because it feels it MSc Real Estate degree is running so successfully, the university is now launching the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accredited degree course in central London.

The MSc in Real Estate is now available to study part-time based at Regent’s University London. Developed in consultation with the RAU’s network of industry contacts, it produces high quality graduates with the knowledge and skills to excel within the real estate profession.

Graduates from the MSc Real Estate course, delivered by the university’s School of Real Estate and Land Management, have gone on to pursue a wide range of careers within international and national firms of chartered surveyors, including CBRE, Colliers International, Hamptons International, DTZ, GVA, Marsh & Parsons, Strutt & Parker, Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank, Savills, Valuation Office Agency, and Whitmarsh Lockhart.

George Fox studied the MSc in Real Estate in 2014 and now works for Strutt & Parker.

He said: “The insight and experience gained on the course gave me a solid foundation with which to begin my career in the sector. The MSc offers a practical approach to learning structured around real-life case studies, which is good preparation for the industry.”

Abigail Jones graduated with an MSc in Real Estate in 2013 and currently works for Savills. She said: “I enrolled on to the programme to gain knowledge of the subject in a practical and professional environment. The case study format provided invaluable experience I can apply in my current role.”

Benjamin Toocaram, Head of Recruitment at Marsh Parsons, said: “We’ve employed three RAU graduates who are all excelling in their roles as Lettings Negotiators in our central London offices.”
