THE FORMER girlfriend of popular teenager Kai Hannis has said she will never meet a more down-to-earth man.

In a touching tribute on Facebook, Rosie Toogood said: "I can't believe I'm writing this Kai Hannis, I still haven't come to terms with the fact I'll never see you again.

"I haven't stopped thinking about you, you were taken so young you had your whole life ahead of you. You had so much potenial and things going for you.

"You did your utmost best to please everyone before yourself which I admired you for, it will never be the same without you.

"I've lost my best friend, my rock and my everything.

"We have some amazing memories that I will cherish forever, you meant more to me than you could ever imagine.

"Yes we had our ups and downs and no matter what you never failed to make me laugh.

"It should never have ended like it did and it's something I'll never be able to live with.

"If you could have only seen how many friends that cared about you and you could have turned to for anything.

"I will never thank you enough for being such a big part of my life and it will never sink in that you're no longer here to turn to.

"You meant the absolute world to me throughout this year and you always will.

"There will never ever be anyone to replace the down-to-earth man you were.

"Heaven has gained another angel who will continue to watch over his family and friends.

"I love you more than words can describe, until we meet again.

"Sleep tight my angel."

Meanwhile, dozens of friends gathered to remember Kai last night in the car park of Stratford Park Leisure where Kai, who loved cars, used to spend time with his many friends.

A tree has been decorated with floral tributes and a tree has also been planted in his memory.

Friend Kyle Buckle, who sent in a photo of the tree, told the SNJ: "Kai was the loudest yet funniest lad.

"He always had a smile on his face no matter what circumstance.

"He will always be remembered for being the joker of the group."

Charley Loveridge, who worked with Kai at Lye Farm in Uley, told the SNJ: "I am so devastated.

"Kai was a good friend of mine and we were getting close.

"We always had a joke and laugh at work all day long, but now Kai's gone, work feels empty and quiet.

"I just wish he realised how many people were by his side."

Friends are meeting at Selsley Common on Sunday at 4.30pm where fireworks will be set off in Kai's memory.

Charley has helped organise the event and stuck a photo of Kai on to the firework in his memory.

Kai, who lived off Parliament Street, Stroud, passed away earlier this week.
