TO WHOM it may concern, whilst at a remembrance service on Sunday, November 8, in Leonard Stanley, I was shocked and appalled to see a bus drive through the middle of the service.

Whilst standing at the war memorial, at 11.02am as the silence was ending and a young girl (who cannot have been older than 13), began to play the last post, a bus appeared from around the corner, displaying an utter lack of respect for the service and what it represents whilst destroying what was a very sombre atmosphere.

As a serviceman this is something that I treat with the utmost respect and importance.

I cannot believe any bus service outweighs the purpose of a ceremony which is being held for Remembrance Sunday and the memories of those who have lost their lives in conflict.

What assurances do myself and others who are trying to pay their respects have that the same misconduct will not be repeated?
