MY RECENT letter was edited to remove the details about the parts from dead animals, and so Cllr Chas Townley’s reply where he praised the Biodynamic Land Trust for “getting things done” did not acknowledge the nature of what gets done.

The Biodynamic Association (based in Stroud), has a FAQ section on its website where the use of animal parts is explained.

We are told how many skulls to bury per hectare, and how many centimetres of intestine to use.

Also the use of bladders is explained, and the ritual stuffing of cow horns with specially prepared mixtures of manure.

Does it matter what gets done in Stroud?

Would Cllr Townley praise any organisation that got things done, no matter what kind of organisation it was?

He has not properly researched anthroposophy to find out what kind of beliefs he is supporting.

I don’t really blame him for that – it is the same for most people, who would guess that a belief in reincarnation is at the heart of it all?

There are photographs if you search the internet for images of biodynamics; they reveal a grim reality.

Many of those joining in have no idea what kind of creed they are supporting.

The Steiner movement has found in Stroud a population ready and seemingly willing to be led into anthroposophy without even knowing what it is. And they are exploiting us to the full.

Some of those in positions of influence in Stroud refuse to acknowledge controversy around anthroposophy, for fear of upsetting an increasingly large and influential Steiner community.
