IT’S LIKE a recurring nightmare say campaigners but we have a plan.
The Slad Valley, immortalised in English literature by Laurie Lee in Cider With Rosie (recently screened on the BBC), is again under attack by Gladman.
In the past two years, Slad Valley Action Group, with massive help and support from the local community, has fought off two applications by Gladman and thought it had done enough to protect the beautiful Slad Valley.
But now Gladman are back.
Slad Valley Action Group desperately needs your help to stop this latest attack and are asking for objections to be sent to the planners at Stroud.
Andy Dickinson, chairman of SVAG, said: “A lot of people think that their original objections will be transferred to the latest application. However, sadly, this is not the case and we have to start from scratch.
“We urge people to fight this latest application, which whilst it appears to be for less houses, is just a ploy to break into the valley.
“We have no doubt that if they get planning permission, they will be back with plans to build many, many more homes in the fields below and to the sides.
“They started off asking for 140 and they’ll never want to accept anything less. We also have a plan, to buy the land from the developers and to preserve it for generations to come.”
