GUARDIAN editor Steve Adams is set to reveal the identity of the man he believes committed the Amman Valley’s only unsolved murder.

Steve will launch his book Murder at the Star: Who killed Thomas Thomas at Glanaman community education centre on Friday, December 11.

At the event, Steve will finally name the man he is convinced murdered the manager of the Garnant branch of Star Stores in February 1921.

The crime, which brought Scotland’s Yard most famous detective to the Amman Valley, has remained unsolved for almost a century, but Steve is sure he has finally found the culprit.

“It took a lot of work to reach the point where I was sure I knew who committed the murder,” said Steve, “but now I am ready to reveal the killer’s identity.

“The writing of the book – and the discoveries I have made along the way – would never have been possible without the help and support of the people of the valley, particularly those from Garnant and Glanaman.

“It seems fitting therefore to launch the book in the Amman Valley, as close to the scene of the crime as I could possibly arrange.

“It also seems right that at the launch and within a few hundred yards of where the murder occurred I should finally make public the name of the man I am convinced committed the crime.”

The launch event will see Steve discussing the writing of Murder at the Star and his findings.

Entry to the event, which will begin at 7pm, is free and refreshments will be provided.
