I’M NOT sure how noticeable it is to the general market customer but from this side there seems to be a constant flow of brand new stalls coming along to the market.

While the core of the stalls remains the same there is always a shifting going on.

This Saturday is no exception with three new stalls in attendance.

The Perfumed Workshop will bring an exotic range of eau de parfum, precious flower oils, soya wax candles, incense and a host of other products all handmade.

The company says: “We pride ourselves on using organically certified essential oils where possible, and hydro-distilled absolutes in our perfumes and fragrance products. This guarantees no use of pesticides or insecticides.”

Hetty’s Tea Party will be attending the market every other week from this Saturday and will be filling that space for excessively nice chocolate goodies and cakes left by the sudden departure of Sweet Hearts of Nailsworth at Christmas.

They will be a hard act to follow but Hetty’s range is stupendous; salted caramel tart, gooey cheesecake brownie, sticky pecan shortbread, gooey lemon slice, cheese scones plus seasonal fruit frangipani tart and more.

Auntie Caroline’s Pickled Onions & Chutneys are all homemade in Cirencester, and available at around 50 outlets in The Cotswolds, as well as at Cirencester, Swindon, and Stroud farmers’ markets.

The seven different pickles include Shockingly Good Shallots, pickled eggs, sassy silverskins, glorious gherkins, cheek-burning chillies, raunchy red cabbage, and the best-selling pickled onions. Auntie Caroline also produces 14 different chutneys, ranging from the sweet (Amorous Apple) to the mild (Ravishing Red Onion) and the spicy (Cheek-Burning Chilli Chutney).

The best-selling chutney is the Marvellous Mango which, along with the Lovely Lime Pickle, is not to be missed by curry lovers.

In other news I’m afraid we could be on the Pippin doughnut ‘dry-out’ rack for another week. I had hoped to be devoting this week’s column to the wondrous doughnut creators but unfortunately the equipment bought to replace the fire damaged machines are not functioning quite right and they will be back on February 13.

Sibling Gin will also be attending.
