A WOMAN was pushed to the floor and assaulted by a gang of five people in Gloucester yesterday whilst walking with her one-year-old son.

At around 2.40pm on Chosen Way, the victim was pushing her son in his pram when she was approached by four men and a woman.

The group have pushed the victim to the floor and assaulted her, laughing whilst doing so.

They then grabbed her handbag and looked inside before dropping the bag and running off from the scene. Nothing was stolen.

Thankfully the victim is only thought to have sustained minor injuries and her son was not harmed.

The man appearing to be the leader of the group is described as white, with a tanned complexion, in his mid-20s, around six foot, of a large build.

He had dark hair in a comb over style and was wearing tight blue jeans and a denim jacket. He had a distinctive scar on his left cheek and ‘piercing’ blue eyes.

The second man is described as white, with a tanned complexion, in his late teens, around 5 foot 7, with dark brown hair that was short at the sides and wavy on the top.

He was wearing black jeans, a silver bangle and a white top with the words ‘forever living’ in black across the front.

The third man is described as white, in his 20s, around six foot, of a medium build with the same hair style as the second man, but lighter in colour. He was wearing ripped jeans and a black leather jacket.

The fourth man is also described as white and in his 20s. He was around 5 foot 7, of a medium build with dark brown hair.

He had a mole on the top of his left cheekbone and was wearing ripped jeans and a brown leather jacket.

The woman was white, in her late teens or early 20s, of a slim build and around 5 foot 7. Her hair was brown and very long. She was wearing white jeans, a grey crop top and a gold chain necklace.

Insp Steve Wood, of Gloucester local policing, said: “We are taking this incident very seriously and urge anyone with information to come forward and help us with our enquiries.

“This was a very distressing incident for the victim who was concerned for not only her own safety, but her baby son’s.

“We have very detailed descriptions of the offenders and the incident happened in broad daylight, so I’m sure somebody must have seen them in the area at the time.”
