A SUSPECTED food fight at a Cotswold pub left one man with a head wound and another in police custody.

Police were called to the Hungry Horse in Seven Springs at around 9.50pm on Saturday after reports a man had sustained a pudding bowl-related injury.

Officers found a 20-year-old man from Quedgeley nursing a cut head and managed to track down the suspect who was still in the pub.

The 17-year-old male from Cheltenham was interviewed and arrested on charges of Actual Bodily Harm.

Police believe a food fight got out of hand and a large ice-cream dish hit a wall and bounced off to hit the unfortunate victim. Investigations are ongoing.

The suspect spent the next day in cells, leading Cotswolds Police sergeant Garrett Gloyn to say “we may call this incident ice-cream Sunday”.

He will appear before a youth offending panel on March 22.
