A 21-YEAR-OLD man from Cirencester has been jailed for helping a teenager travel to Syria to fight with Islamic extremists.
Forhad Rahman was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of helping in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
Kristen Brekke, 20, from Cardiff, and Adeel Ulhaq, 21, from Nottinghamshire, were also found guilty of the same charge.
Ulhaq was sentenced to five years while Brekke was given four years and six months.
Ulhaq was also sentenced to an additional year for funding terrorism.
The Old Bailey was told that the three men helped Cardiff teen Aseel Muthana, 19, join so-called Islamic State in February 2014 and that they all shared the same "highly-radical ideology".
The court heard that Rahman and Ulhaq had also expressed a desire to follow Muthana to Syria to fight with militants.
