A WOMAN who was involved in a crash on the A4173 in Pitchcombe is trying to track down the passers-by who offered her comfort when she was in shock.

Zoe Workman, 31, who works at Kerry Maintenance in London Road, Stroud, crashed her blue BMW Mini into a tree after it hit black ice caused by water running off fields near Resthaven Nursing Home on Monday morning.

She was driving to work from her boyfriend's house in Gloucester.

Three motorists passing-by, two women and a man, immediately came to her aid, calling the emergency services and offering her a blanket, coat and hat.

"They kept reassuring me that everything was going to be alright and that the ambulance would arrive soon," she said.

"I have managed to find one of the ladies on Facebook and I am going to send her a thank you card.

"I would just like to say thank you to the others for what they did."

Police, ambulance and fire crew soon arrived at around 8am.

Zoe, from Dursley, was then cut free from the car and taken to Cheltenham General Hospital for injuries to her arm.

"The firemen were amazing, especially one of them," added Zoe.

"He kept talking to me while they cut the door off the car.

"He was making me laugh and kept it light-hearted, saying I would be able to see the sunshine again soon."

Last month on the same stretch of road Katie and son Miles Jarvis were rescued from their car which had overturned after hitting ice by two brave young men passing by.
