THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery has been stolen from a popular antiques shop in Stroud.
Thieves forced open a window and broke into three glass cabinets at Malt House Emporium, stealing rings worth around £20,000.
Two of the cabinets were forced open and one, containing higher value items, was smashed.
It happened between 5pm last night and 9.45am this morning.
The popular shop at Salmon Springs Trading Estate, which only opened 18 months ago, was forced to close this morning but has now re-opened.
Owner Helen Tweddle said: "They knew exactly what they were looking for.
"They broke in through the window and avoided the CCTV and then moved the furniture to get round the sensors.
"We are assuming they have been here before to check out the site.
"The jewellery stolen was mostly gold rings."
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident 107 of April 5.
