BOTH directions on the A419 Ebley Bypass in Stroud have now re-opened after a two car collision earlier this afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at 12.50pm after a Vauxhall Corsa and a Ford Ka were involved in a crash near Sainsbury’s Roundabout.
A police spokeswoman said the crash had been caused by an “unknown silver vehicle” when it had tried to overtake another car on the single lane carriageway towards Stonehouse.
“The silver vehicle then failed to stop and drove away,” she said.
“There were no other injuries.”
Both lanes on the bypass were closed while the vehicles were recovered and oil was cleaned from the road.
Traffic was cleared at 2.30pm.
Police would like to trace the owner of the silver vehicle.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 192 of April 20.
