POLICE are looking for two men who attempted to rob an 11-year-old girl as she was walking home from school.

The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Wednesday in Moorend Road opposite Withyholt Court in Cheltenham.

She was walking home from school when she was approached by two men who asked her if she had any money.

The victim denied having any and one of the men then took her blazer which she was carrying. They searched the blazer’s pockets but found nothing so threw it on the floor before leaving the scene.

Both men are described as white, around 5 foot 4 and in their late teens. One was wearing a grey baseball cap, a long sleeved white jacket, black baggy jeans and trainers. He also had several earrings in his right ear.

The other was wearing a black baseball cap, black sunglasses and a bright blue long sleeved jacket with the sleeves rolled up, which showed a large dragon tattoo on his forearm.

PC Mark Feltham, the investigating officer, said: “Thankfully the girl was not harmed during the incident but we are still treating this seriously. It is concerning that two men would attempt to rob a young girl, but we wish to reassure the local community that incidents of this nature are rare and we are doing all we can to trace those responsible.”

Anyone who saw two men of these descriptions in the area is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 427 of Wednesday 20 April.
