ARTISANS working with textiles found a common thread when they came together to showcase their work for an exhibition in Stroud.
Soft Engineering: Textiles Taking Shape, which is part of the Select Festival, brings together Alison Ellen, Ann Richards, Deirdre Wood each of whom have pursued careers in knitting and weaving.
"Throughout the exhibition there is a central theme of textiles taking shape through the interplay of raw material and structure with pleating, folding, twisting, double-sided fabrics," a spokesman said.
"Finished pieces of work will be complemented by explanatory materials including loomstate pieces, photographs and paper models, showing the processes of making and finishing."
The free exhibition at The Museum in the Park runs until Sunday, May 22 and is accompanied by talks and artist-led workshops.
