A CAR was left hanging vertically over a three metre high drop after ploughing through a wall off London Road in Stroud yesterday.

The brown Ford Focus crashed through the brick wall opposite Bristol Street Motors used car garage on the A419.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was an employee of the motor dealership which lies directly accross the road.

A spokeswoman said: “A vehicle collided with a brick wall on London Road in Stroud at around 4.20pm on Tuesday.

“The car, a Ford Focus, is owned by a motor dealership on the same road and the man driving was a member of staff at that premises.

“Police didn't attend but advised the caller to contact their insurance company and the owner of the wall.”

No one was injured. Police have cordoned off the scene.

This is the second crash on London Road in 24 hours.

The road was brought to a complete standstill for hours this morning after another serious crash involving three cars in Thrupp.

A man was taken to hospital with a fractured collar bone after crashing his car into two vehicles.

The fire service attended at around 5.50am to cut the man free from his Ford Fiesta, which had crashed into two parked cars on the A419 London Road, near Stroud Brewery.
