THE man charged in connection with stealing three dogs from kennels in Chalford has appeared in court – and will enter a pela later this month.

Martin MacDonagh, aged 43, of Bradley Road in Patchway, Bristol, was called before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Friday, April 29.

The charge is in relation to an incident on Wednesday 27 January, where three springer spaniels were allegedly stolen from padlocked kennels.

The three female dogs were seven-year-old Maddie, six-year-old Brandy and seven-month-old Harley.

One of the dogs, Brandy, was later found in Bristol and returned to owner Scott Manson.

A Facebook page, STOLEN Maddie Brandy and Harley was set up after the theft with thousands of people having shared the appeal.

The two missing dogs are both microchipped.

The hearing on Friday was adjourned to Friday, May 27 for a plea to be entered.
