  • Stonehouse WI meets this evening Wednesday May 18 at 7.30 in the Community Centre. May is the month we discuss and vote on the resolution to go forward to the NFWI AGM. Our speaker is Liz Reilly who is coming along to talk about back pain. The coveted Bud Vase goes to the winner of the decorated vegetable and plants and seed are the theme for the Bring and Buy Table.
  • Saturday May 21. A plant and cake stall on the Green will be held from 9am on Saturday May 21. Money raised from this event will be donated to Stonehouse in Bloom.
  • Savvy Seniors Cinema Club meets every Monday at 11am at the Vue Cinema in Stroud. Next Monday, May 23 - A film as usual and a surprise.   • Stonehouse Women’s Royal British Legion Branch Contrary to what may have been stated elsewhere, this branch will not be closing and the next meeting is in the Community Centre at 1.45pm Thursday, May 26. Our membership, already about 30, always welcomes new members.

  • Cotswold AONB Wardens’ Walks. Join us today: Wednesday May 18 from Hunters Hall to Hartley Bridge – six miles taking four hours. All walks start at 10am and return to the starting point.
  • Stonehouse Wheelers is a family friendly cycling club and always welcomes new cyclists. If you are new to cycling why not get in touch with the Secretary Roy Jones on 01453 298759. They organise a range of rides, on Sunday afternoons, to cater for the ambitious and the not-so ambitious.   • Do you enjoy playing Whist? Regular sessions are held in the Stonehouse Community Centre and the next one is Monday, May 16. We meet at 1pm to start playing at 1.15. So why not come along and join us. We are a friendly bunch and always welcome new players.

  • Singing for the Brain. This is by the Alzheimer’s Society and sessions are held at Stonehouse community centre on Tuesday afternoons.
