MARCUS Kelly insists he is "raring to go" after penning a one-year deal at Forest Green.

Hos new deal will see the  30-year-old creative midfielder start his fourth season at The New Lawn after joining from Tamworth in the summer of 2013.

Kelly said: “It’s a stressful time being a footballer at this time being out of contract so I’m really happy it’s done.

“I’m raring to go now. Obviously Mark Cooper is a good manager and I am looking forward to working under him."

Kelly had been on the periphery under former boss Ady Pennock, but was restored to the side under caretaker boss Scott Bartlett.

However, an injury in the play-off semi final fist leg at Dover ended his season.

He added: “It was a great experience going to Wembley at the end of last season but everyone was gutted in the changing room after the game. Hopefully next year we can go one better and get promoted.”

The former Oxford United and Kettering man began his career at Rushden & Diamonds in the Football League where he made over 150 appearances.
