A HISTORIC former convent in Stroud is due to be sold off at auction for almost a quarter of a million pounds.
The Old Convent in Beeches Green has been put on the market for £225,000 and will be sold to the highest bidder on Monday July 4.
The 19th century building which used to be the Convent of St.Rose of Lima is currently used as a multi-roomed business centre.
It lies on near St Roses Primary School and Beeches Green Health Clinic, opposite Merrywalks Shopping Centre.
The 1,176sqm property comprises the former convent, an adjoining chapel which is currently used as a music studio and a number of adjoining buildings.
The convent retains a number of its original features, indulging iconic red timber window casements, a circular stone tower and Gothic arch corridors.
Currently office space is used by a number of businesses and is popular with alternative medical practitioners.
A car park with 20 spaces and a further courtyard with eight spaces are located at the back of the building.
Lambert Smith Hampton are due to action off the property on a freehold tenure at 11am.
Development of the site is subject to planning consent from Stroud District Council.
