ABOUT 50 pilots flocked to Aston Down airfield near Minchinhampton to take part in a week of gliding competitions organised by Cotswold Gliding Club.
Andy Davis, a member of Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club in Nympsfield, claimed the title for the multi-seat nationals, George Metcalfe won the standard class nationals while Cotswold Gliding Club members Mike Weston and David Briggs were winners of the Cotswold regionals.
Pilots were timed flying set routes and winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Sunday, June 26.
The competitions had been postponed for three days due to bad weather.
