INQUISITIVE students found out how many steps their lollipop lady takes in one day - 29,291.
To keep track, pupils at Stroud Valley Community School strapped a pedometer to Gloria Hobday on Friday.
“We wanted to count how many steps Gloria takes from when she first picks up her lollipop in the morning, to when she puts it down at the end of the day,” said Sam O’Brien, who was involved in organising the event.
“So that included the morning school run, lunchtime, the afternoon school run and everything in between.”
The parent teachers and friends association at Stroud Valley Community School set a challenge for people to guess at the number of steps Gloria took during the day, with the winner receiving a family ticket for @Bristol Science Centre worth over £50.
The second closest guess won a family ticket to Go Bananas in Stroud.
An average person walks up to 4,000 steps every day.
