A NEW superhub for teams who treat and support people with mental illnesses, learning disabilities and dementia has opened its doors in Stroud.

2gether NHS Foundation Trust’s new ‘South Locality Hub’ is now open in Weavers Croft, Park Road.

The Trust has worked out of the building and the neighbouring Park House for a number of years.

However over the last two years the buildings have been refurbished and reconfigured throughout.

They are now the home to doctors, nurses, therapists, psychologists and other professionals supporting children and adults across Stroud, Dursley, Cirencester and the surrounding areas.

Community services manager Jonathan Thomas said: “The work we have undertaken at Weavers Croft and Park House represents a big commitment in the services we provide to people in the local area.

“The old buildings were no longer fit for purpose – not only for our staff but more importantly for the people we support in our community.

“We’ve been supported by the Stroud Hospitals League of Friends, who have assisted with equipment, décor, furniture and many other donations.

“We’re very grateful to the League of Friends as well as the other organisations – Artlift included - who have helped us to create a more comfortable and welcoming place for our service users and carers to visit.”

The teams working from the ‘hub’ include Stroud Community Learning Disability Team, Later Life Team, Assertive Outreach Team and Recovery: Stroud It is also a base for Crisis Team, Children and Young People Service, Managing Memory 2gether, Mental Health Intermediate Care Team and Let’s Talk.

People who access 2gether’s services are generally referred by their GP or other health professionals, however certain services can be accessed directly.
