A BUDDING artist has won a competition to design the medal for the runners who complete this year's Stroud Half Marathon.
Megan Spiers, aged 12, a pupil at Archway School, beat off dozens of entries in the competition run by the charity Allsorts, the official partner for the Stroud Half which takes place in October.
She was judged the winner by a panel including Olympic long-distance runner Dan Robinson.
The charity which supports children with disabilities and additional needs has been given 50 places in the Stroud Half Marathon with each runner having a target of raising £75.
The 35th Stroud Half Marathon will take place on October 23, starting and finishing on Cainscross Road next to Marling School field.
Anyone who would like to run on behalf of Allsorts can get further details from their website at allsortsglos.org.uk.
