HUNDREDS of people basked in the summer sun to enjoy the raucous rhythms of live ska music in Stratford Park on Saturday afternoon.
Crowds kicked back on the grass in temperatures of 25°C to enjoy The Mighty John Street Ska Orchestra.
The outdoor gig on the band stand drew a large crowd of park-goers and music-lovers alike, who gathered with chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy the free show.
The popular band covered a number of classic songs from the 60s and 70s, including classic ska tunes made famous by Jamaican bands such as the Skatalites.
The 13-piece group is made up of a nine-strong brass section alongside bass, drums, guitar and keys.
Their hour long set included The James Bond theme tune, the Guns of Navarone, Skaravan, The Specials classic A Message to You Rudy and the Pink Panther theme.
They were joined onstage by guests Mia, Saskia and Millie plus Thee Ones.
Ska is style of music that developed in Jamaica in the 1950s as a precursor to Reggae.
