KEVIN McLarnon’s crimes have had a devastating effect on his family as well as his victim.
McLarnon’s family should not have to bear the guilt of his misdeeds, as they have done all they can to try to turn him away from crime.
When his mother, Wendy Smith, learnt of his latest despicable crime, she was as horrified as everybody else, especially as a carer.
The family’s apology to the 91-year-old victim is heartfelt and genuine, and all those who know Mrs Smith will know she is a decent woman.
McLarnon deserves to be behind bars and reviled for stooping so low, but his family should not be punished as well.
