A MAN was knocked unconscious with a metal pole during an aggravated burglary at a home in Kingsway earlier this week.

The daytime attack happened in Woodvale between 3pm and 4.15pm on Tuesday (26 July).

The 21-year-old victim was at home alone when three unknown offenders entered through an unlocked back door.

As the victim reached the bottom of the stairs one of the offenders, a white man with patchy facial stubble and a hoodie, struck him several times with a metal pole, knocking him unconscious for a short time.

The offenders left the scene after stealing several thousand pounds from the house and a solid gold bracelet that has been on the victim's wrist.

Detective Inspector David Shore-Nye said: "This may be linked to a criminal feud but obviously it's appalling that these people had the audacity to just walk into a house on a quiet estate in the middle of the day and beat someone unconscious.

"We're doing everything we can to trace the men but we need the public's help.

"The burglary happened on a bus route with very regular buses and I want anyone who was on a bus or in the area around the time of the incident to think if they saw anyone or anything suspicious, no matter how innocuous it seemed at the time.

"If you can think of anything that you saw that was out of the ordinary please call us straight away on 101 and quote incident 320 of 26 July."
