BOOKWORMS bagged a bargain at a church sale in Stonehouse.
The annual bric-a-brac and book sale held by St Nicholas' Church, Standish, raised around £150 for much-needed church maintenance funds.
Volunteers donated all types of books and home made cakes were on offer at the event on The Green, Stonehouse, on Saturday, July 23.
Hilda Prescott, a member of the congregation and organiser of the event, said: "We had loads of books donated this year which was great for people coming along.
"Like all churches we are in need of funds for lighting and maintenance and it is only a small congregation.
"We are grateful to Stonehouse Town Council for letting us use The Green."
