POLICE want to talk to any outstanding witnesses in connection with an assault outside the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham that left one victim with a fractured jaw.

It happened outside the theatre in Regent Street between 2.55am and 4am on Tuesday (26 July).

A man who was part of a group on a night out is believed to have made a comment to a man who was walking by, prompting an incident which resulted in several men being assaulted.

A 19-year-old Gloucester man suffered a fractured jaw in the incident. Another man suffered a fractured nasal cavity.

Officers are asking people who saw the incident but haven't yet come forward to call 101 and quote incident 36 of 26 July.

Many inquiries have been carried out to trace those who were there and officers are particularly grateful to staff at nearby MooMoo nightclub who have helped identify some of the men involved.

On Wednesday (27 July) a 19-year-old Cheltenham man was voluntarily interviewed under caution in connection with the case.

He has now been reported for the offences of assault and affray, which could result in him appearing at court to face charges.

However officers still need outstanding witnesses to come forward so are urging anyone who was there to get in touch.
